- Diamond Museum
Bruges may be less known today as a diamond city, but don't be fooled. It was once the oldest diamond center in all of Europe. The stone known today in engagement rings owes one of its most famous shapes to the Bruges man Lodewijk van Berken who invented the "pear cut. A cut that emphasizes the brilliance of diamonds.
