Hiking and cycling in Blankenberge
Hiking in Blankenberge is never boring. You can do the Belle Epoque route or you can parade along the dike or on the beach. Also on both sides of the dunes (side Wenduine and side Zeebrugge), there’s a path laid out. You decide yourself how far you go. Side Zeebrugge automatically results in the Zeebrugge nature reserve ‘ the Fountains ‘. These are a series of artificial, partly natural dune Lakes along a 4 km long stretch between the dunes and the coast road between Zeebrugge and Blankenberge.
Cyclists have a whole region full of fun routes. You should definitely go by the tourist office. They have plenty of maps with bike routes. A must? The Genteleroute. This will introduce you to the Uitkerkse Polders.
