Hike The Four Days of the Yser

The Four Days of the Yser is an annual event that takes place in the third week of August. This walking tour, organized by the Belgian Defense, is open to both civilians and military personnel from home and abroad. The march, also referred to as a military exercise, provides a unique opportunity to reflect on the victims of the First and Second World Wars.

Walkers explore the historical and tourist highlights of the Westhoek in a pleasant way. The first day of walking starts in Nieuwpoort, Koksijde, and Oostduinkerke, with arrivals on the following days in Poperinge, Diksmuide, and Ypres.

This year, the Four Days of the Yser will take place from Tuesday, August 20th to Friday, August 23rd, 2024. The event offers a perfect mix of physical challenge, cultural discovery, and historical commemoration, making it an unforgettable experience for all participants.
